It cleans the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as good. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and performs well, but this is something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has distinct features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it is entangled in a blockage, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
